How to display gears on a Mannequin

1. Ensure retainers have at least 5 slots left to list items in the market (affects step 4.3); 

2. Open housing menu > drop an mannequin into the house and select a retainer

3. Exit the housing menu

4. Click on the mannequin and select each option in order:

   1. Assign mannequin class - to change their job

   2. Select race and gender - to change their model (hairsytles are fixed)

   3. Select gear to display - to change their outfit; select the original unglammed gears, untradeable items are allowed;

      1. • For weapons held at the back, put these gears on to prevent clipping:

           • Head - Bronze Chain Coif @ https://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodestone/playguide/db/item/9bdbfc7085c/

           • Bottom - Hempen Tights @ https://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodestone/playguide/db/item/3e0bf4614bc/

   4. Select a pose - to change the model's pose

      1. • For weapons held at the back, use crossed-arm pose to prevent clipping

   5. Exit the mannequin menu

5. IMPORTANT! Steps to remove the selected gear from marketboard listing:

   1. Go to a retainer bell and summon the retainer that was selected at Step 2

   2. Open up Markerboard Listing, remove the displayed gear from there

   3. Done! The gears will now be gone from the listing BUT left showing up on the mannequin still

6. Repeat 1 to 5 for the next mannequin!

FAQ

Can I change the retainer name on the mannequin?

Yes. But floated models requires glitching. Like most housing NPC the only way to change that is to move the mannequin into inventory or storage and place it back -- which resets its state and needs to be glitch to float again. We are happy to assist at no cost.

Can I move the mannequin somewhere else?

Yes but likely required glitching. Contact us for help!

Can I keep what my housemate have displayed on the mannequin?

Yes. Apparently removing someone from housemate does not reset any items they put on on the mannequin. Which means you can display all your friend's gear!
